HERNANDO PARKS & RECREATION ANNOUNCES SPRING SOCCER

The City of Hernando Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for their Spring Soccer Program. Deadline for registration is Feb. 15^th, 2009. It is open to boys and girls ages 5 – 14. The cost is $65 per child and will include a uniform. Applications can be mailed or brought to the Parks & Recreation office at the Gale Community Center, 2601 Elm St, Hernando, MS 38632.

This season the league is being managed by Hernando Parks and Recreation with the help of John Heard a local civil engineer and father of two children. John Heard will volunteer as the soccer director. The league is looking for volunteers to coach, anyone interested please contact Hernando Parks & Recreation Department.

Practices will be held one night a week and games will be on Saturdays. The season will start with practices in March after Spring Break and games will run thru mid-May. All games will be held at the Hernando Sports and Fitness Park at 161 East South Street (Old high school football field).
